Lee Suhyeok (리수혁, Li Suhyeog; "Suhyeok Lee") was a spy sent from North Korea to infiltrate South Korea.[1] He was the grandfather of Lee Sujin.

Appearance[]

Lee Suhyeok was an old man with a muscular build and two scars on his chin. He has grey hair an grey eyes and was often depicted wearing Taekwondo gi, with a black belt and grey pants..[1]

Personality[]

Lee Suhyeok is very caring towards his family shown when he asked Jin Taejin to take care of them after his death. He also seems to have a good relationship with Taejin even teasing him during their fight.

History[]

Lee Suhyeok was one of the 38 agents North Korea sent to infiltrate and spy on South Korea. However, this mission was unsuccessful as all of them got caught, and all of his comrades were shot dead,. The South Korean government, interested in Lee Suhyeok's bare-hand fighting abilities, summoned 50 skilled South Korean martial artist to fight one-on-one with him. The results were a big surprise as he won every single match with 15 seriously injured, 9 unconscious, and 26 killed. After the devastating results of the battle, the government tortured him in order to gain information about the martial arts he used.[1]

A few years later, Jin Taejin killed him in a death fight.[2]

Plot[]

Lee Suhyeok appears in various flashbacks throughout The God of Highschool, his first one being when Judge P was telling Northern ITF Taekwondo's origins to Moon Giju.[1] He is later seen in the flashback's of the origin of Renewal Taekwondo.[2]

Abilities[]

Martial Arts Genius: He was a master of Northern ITF Taekwondo and fought and defeated over 50 martial artists of different styles[1] including Jin Taejin before he created Renewal Taekwondo. His strength was great enough for Jin Taejin to acknowledge him as his master and equal.

Superhuman Stamina: He defeated over 50 martial artists from South Korea in one of one fight, showing incredible stamina and strength.[1]
