Jeon Jaesan was a member of The Six and the chairman of the Sixsung Corporation. He was also considered a living National Treasure.

Appearance[]

Jeon Jaesan was a huge man, with his physique easily exceeding that of a normal human being. His hands were large enough to break a table with a slight push of his hand. He had an elderly appearance with white hair and wore glasses.

Personality[]

Despite his position and prestige, Jaesan still held onto some old style chivalry, prompting him to view keeping the peace and protecting innocents as a duty. His charisma as the leader of a giant corporation also made him first among equals in The Six.

Jaesan was proud of his grandson Jeon Jugok and cared a lot for him, though he believed that people need to be born with strength and cannot become strong through sheer hard work, which was said to have put too much pressure onto the boy. He also had a size complex and didn't like it when people comment on it.

History[]

Jaesan was a prodigy in Charyeok with magic, and at the age of 37 became an archmage with the recognition of the National Magician Association. 10 years later the South Korean government, eager to keep the ever-increasing Charyeok Users from their throats, granted him membership in The Six so that he can act as a pope who keeps other Charyeok Users in line.

15 years ago when examining Sixsung’s oil drilling operations in Russia, Jaesan was impressed by Sin Yunseong who dived into a freezing lake in order to recover the body of a drowned employee. Taking Yunseong in as his apprentice in addition to appointing him as Jugok’s tutor, Jaesan taught the young magician various spells while also making him his chief secretary.

When Jugok once lost to Park Ilpyo in a martial tournament, Jaesan asked Ilpyo to become his student, and although the offer was refused, Jugok was pressured even more to fulfill his grandfather’s expectations.

Concerned with the upsurge in Charyeok Users which gave rise to Charyeok-wielding criminals as well as the intensifying threat of Nox, but at the same time not entirely trusting of the G.O.H. Tournament organised by his fellow member of The Six Park Mujin, Jaesan and Yunseong put their minds together to establish Shadow, a secret subsidiary of Sixsung that will employ or eliminate unsanctioned Charyeok Users not already invited to the Tournament. To this end he sneaked into Judge Q’s office at night in an attempt to find any high school Charyeok Users who he can utilise, during which he burned the invitation letter meant for Gang Daehyeop.

Plot[]

Nationals/Eclipse[]

Jeon Jaesan was first seen sitting at a table in a meeting of the Sixsung, where he receives a message of the Six being mustered. He was then seen encouraging Jugok, who was participating in the God of High School Tournament. It was at this period when he bequeathed part of his wealth to Yunseong and sent him away from Sixsung so that he can go head Shadow.

Trying to get Shadow up and running, Jaesan made many deals with the South Korean government, and after it received recognition continued to provide support, despite a widening rift between him and his apprentice. Jaesan later appeared in the stadium of the G.O.H. Tournament alongside fellow members of the Six to watch Jugok fight against Jegal Taek, after which he got enraged by Taek handing his grandson a humiliating defeat that greatly damaged his body and psyche, and had to ask Na Bongchim to help with the healing.

Later Jaesan was seen mourning his grandson, who was taken over by Greed and killed by Jegal Taek, where he tells Park Mujin that he had lost the Sixsung Corporation due to the stockholders siding with J.G. Group, which was owned by Jegal Taek's family. He then demanded to see Taek but got refused, and was stopped from further violence by Seo Hanryang. Jaesan was then promised by Park Mujin, who was continuing with the tournament even when he had found out Ilpyo was the Key in order to seek out more strong fighters to fight against their enemies, that he will give Jegal Taek to him after the tournament ends.

Reappearing at the stadium when Park Mujin was trying to talk Taek into working for him and not Sang Mandeok, Jaesan saw him and the Judges faring badly in the battle against the Bishop and his army of angels, so he teleported all residents of Seoul except for himself and Mandeok all to way to Gangwon-do. Trapping the city within a giant Barrier, Jaesan then transformed the nuclear missiles launched by the U.S.A. to make a giant alchemic bomb which he hammers onto the nephilim summoned by Mandeok with a giant meteor. However when he discovered that there were people still in the Holy Place beneath the stadium where his teleport powers couldn’t reach, Jaesan disabled the Barrier so the power of the explosion will be diluted upwards, though this made him fail to completely destroy the nephilim or Sang Mandeok. His death approaching now that he had broken the Taboo, Jaesan saw how Jegal Taek after a beating from the Monkey King Jin Mori and has got defeated when his Greed-possessed body was petrified by Jugok’s remaining consciousness, and his last thoughts were about his grandson and how proud he was of him.
